Research paper on rag reducing hallucinations

At a glance

The post asks if there is a research paper that shows how much the Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) model reduces hallucinations. A community member responds by providing two relevant research paper links, but notes they are unsure if RAG directly reduces hallucinations or if it increases domain specificity/knowledge which then reduces hallucinations. The community member is also unsure if there is a need to differentiate between these two possibilities. There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Quick searching yields:

Although I'm not sure if RAG actually reduces hallucination directly or it increase domain specificity/knowledge and that reduces hallucination. Not even sure if there is a point in differentiating.
thanks for that!
