hello everyone i have a simple question

At a glance

The community members are discussing the time it takes to build an index of a 30KB plain text file. The initial post asks how much time this would take. The comments suggest that it should take less than a minute, or even just a few seconds, depending on the user's specifications and internet connection. However, one community member reports that their process has been running for an hour with no response, and they suspect it may be due to a problem with their network. Another community member suggests that the issue could be related to not having the OpenAI API key set, as the default model used by the tool requires it.

Hi! Depending on your specs and embedding model you are using (+ Internet connection speed), it should take less than a minute

wait. Did you set openai api key? Because llamaindex uses text-ada model by openai by default, so you need to have an api key set
yes i've set the api key
