The community members are discussing the kapa.ai chatbot and comparing it to Mendable, which powers the ctrl-k feature on the LlamaIndex documentation website. Some community members have heard that kapa.ai is better than Mendable, but there is no clear consensus. One community member is conducting a small-scale benchmark and has found Mendable and mayooear chat to be the top performers, but they were unable to include kapa.ai in the benchmark due to the lack of a way to sign up. Another community member has discovered a tool called getonboard.dev, which they evaluate to be better than Mendable, particularly for its step-by-step answers in lists.
Is there a reason why the kapa.ai chatbot is limited to a discord channel? I read from past discussions of this Discord that it is better than Mendable (the one that powers the ctrl-k of LlamaIndex documentation website)?
I'm doing it at a small scale at https://github.com/rht/docs-llm-chatbot. The top 2 are actually Mendable and mayooear chat. There is no kapa.ai result because there is no way for me to sign up.
I have since discovered https://www.getonboard.dev/, which I evaluate to be better than Mendable, especially that it is configured to give step-by-step answer in lists, instead of Mendable's unreadable 1 big paragraph blob.
